AirAsia D7218 Kuala Lumpur to Melbourne budget airline flight review

This is my experience and learning curve on this low cost airline that we fly frequently- we booked a flight to Melbourne where we currently are from Phuket and it was a two leg trip with layover in Klia2 in Kuala Lumpur. First flight was an Airbus 321 so I did not expect any wonders as it is just a one hour thirty up and down and we have done this one before

AK 827 from the convenient gate 15 directly left from security

Now after a quick two and a half hour layover in Klia2 we boarded the Air Asia A330-300 bird

AirAsia D7218

As this is an eight hour flight I was expecting inflight entertainment of some sort – there is none unless you rent a free standing screen to unfold on your tray – which depending on the person in front of you will lower his/hers seat or not and of course I hadn’t downloaded anything on my phone – there is no USB or a power outlet so bring your power bank If you’re flying economy

Big fan

So I was spinning up a bit then I remembered Sabai Sabai – take it easy so I sat down waiting for takeoff and service to start and this was a very bright experience – smiling friendly staff and I wanted some beer and ordered two and they happily up sold me to three beers at the same time to a better price each – was actually happy to be ripped of 🤪 also we bought some excellent nachos with dip – then after food and drink service was over it was pretty obvious that frequent flyers on this flight knew exactly what to expect and more or less started to go to sleep

I was not ready for that yet when my partner asked didn’t you bring your old PS Vita consoles – that was another of the things that saved me from boredom 🙏🏻

So conclusion very happy with the flight all in all just the surprise got me off guard and as I was also poorly prepared for that I can’t blame AirAsia just inform others what to expect on these kind of budget travels

Safe flying and stay non prepared
